Flying together

Members helping members

River City Flying Club is a non-profit social club, not a flight school. Several of our members happen to hold CFI certificates, and they’re glad to help fellow members with checkouts, flight reviews, and proficiency flying.

Any arrangement for instruction is between members directly — you choose who you work with. It’s a friendly, low-pressure way to stay sharp alongside pilots who want to see you succeed.

River City Flying Club does not advertise or provide flight training to the public. Any instruction is a private arrangement between members.

What members help each other with

Staying current, staying sharp

Our flying rules set clear, sensible standards so every member is safe and confident in the airplane. Highlights:

New Member Checkout

Certificated pilots are checked out in N640SP by a club-authorized instructor before acting as PIC — an insurance requirement for all members.

90-Day Currency

Flown the type within 90 days to act as PIC, or complete a check flight first. A separate night check applies after 90 days without night flying.

Student Pilots

Students fly with a club-authorized instructor, with each solo authorized by their instructor and recent dual within the prior 60 days.
