Our story
River City Flying Club Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation formed in the State of Illinois. We exist to promote the pleasure, recreation, and fellowship of our members through the shared enjoyment of aviation.
We’re not a flight school or a rental counter. Every member has a vote in how the club is run and a shared responsibility to fly safely and care for the club’s aircraft. That sense of stewardship is what makes a club feel different from anywhere else you can rent an airplane.
Between flights, you’ll find us at fly-ins, maintenance days, cookouts, and safety meetings. Students learn from seasoned pilots, instructors mentor members, and everyone shares the same passion for getting off the ground.

What we value
Mutual trust, risk awareness, and members helping each other become better, safer pilots — supported by the FAA WINGS program.
Members share in how the club is run and in the responsibility to care for it. We treat the airplane like it’s ours to protect, because our membership depends on it.
From first solos to cross-country adventures, we celebrate every milestone — and we have fun doing it.
